Tragedy On Set Dress Man Q This show finally has a Canadian version. Were you a fan of the original? A We are here! For all the Canadian brides, from one coast to the other coast. I was absolutely a fan of the original series. I was a designer eveningwear specialist, so when I saw [the show], I said, "Oh, I think I could do that," but never ever thought I would. I was absolutely, over-the-top excited. I think it's going to be one of the most successful series going on TV and we're going to make it very special. Q How did you connect with the owners of Amanda-Lina's before filming? A Connection is something I can't even begin to explain, but it was like we had known each other for a long, long time. That's my feeling. They're just so wonderful and warm and giving that I could see that, and I just knew it was going to work if I got the job — which I did! — and I'm so glad that that happened. They're just absolutely wonderful people. Q In your expert opinion, what makes this store so special? A With their stock and the people that work there, the alteration people and everything, that is why the store is so successful. They have 17 different designers and the most unbelievable people that are working there. It's truly amazing. That's why there's a gold mine there. Q What do you set out to give the brides you work with? A To tell you the truth, the experience of walking into the store, seeing how beautiful it is and the lines that are available to the girls, and having them listen to us and making everything special for them . . . that's what it's all about, making it special for them. Listening to them, their wants and needs. That's the magic of it.
