We have little gizmos in the house. one thing i love is our vacuum under our sink in the kitchen, and literally you sweep it up and it goes straight to our central vacuum system. We love listening to music, so we put extra speakers into different rooms, doing more things that just makes life easier. Tell me about your experience having a mortgage. the first home my husband and i purchased was in oakville. it was a brand new house and brand new build. that was our first mortgage. Being smart, we were mortgage-free in five years, so we were very good with our money at the time. But we wanted to pay off our mortgage and when we did that, life was pretty awesome. When we sold our house, we sold our house in 24 hours. When we purchased this house, we went bigger and more expensive and we have a mortgage now. so we're back to that. How important are financial considerations when purchasing a home? they're very important. this was the home i wanted and you can't just buy properties like this. so when i did find it, we had to really consider what we were doing. We were going from mortgage-free back into a mortgage. Do we want to do this? is this the right thing to do? We both agreed that [finding this property] is not going to happen again—a home we both love, Interviewing the biggest stars around the world wasn't exactly Sangita Patel's original career path. Instead, the Toronto native, who is a self-admitted math nerd, studied electrical engineering at university. She spent five years in the profession, but always had an interest in television. It started when she was a spokesperson for a high school pageant on TV. While she worked a regular job in engineering, she volunteered for Toronto Living, a local show, and did entertainment on the side. "I had a day job and then a night job, and so I fell in love with it," she says. "I didn't know what was going to happen after being an engineer, but things worked out for me because I ended up working at the Weather Network. I met someone who said, 'Since you love science and you love television, why don't you do weather? That's perfect.' So I'm now a weather fanatic.
