2 C B S , H B O C A N A D A Into the Woods TOGETHERNESS Sunday, 8:30 p.m. & 11:30 p.m., HBO Canada I t looks like Brett's about to have a pretty rough morning when he stumbles upon what looks like a dead woman in the woods, but — surprise! — it's only guest star Mary Steenburgen, who plays Linda, a new-age hippie type who tells Brett she's just "connecting with her death" (which apparently explains her positioning under a huge pile of branches). Thus begins an initially awkward interaction which starts with him all but sneering when she calls him a "ghost in chains" but ultimately proves pretty inspiring to Brett. Case in point: when he has to deal with a childish client at work who can't be bothered to be considerate, he takes a stand. Meanwhile, Tina decides to reach out to Alex, reinitiating contact after some past awkwardness to offer him a gig as a clown. But when his reaction is less than positive, she tries to find some other good-will gesture, ultimately finding him a role in Larry's new movie. There's only one problem: the part is for a chubby best friend, which devalues all the hard work he's put into getting back in shape. Elsewhere, Melanie gets a call from David inviting her to the charter school, which she accepts less because she wants to assist him in straightening up the place and more because she thinks he's super-cute. We don't expect this to end well. TV WEEK 15 Home Alone RHODA'S RETURN! MIKE & MOLLY Monday, 8:30 p.m., City & CBS Given the amount of family perpetually surrounding Mike and Molly, you can imagine how excited they are to discover that they finally have the house to themselves for an entire weekend . . . though we're guessing the solitude won't work out exactly as they plan. 2 BROKE GIRLS Monday, 8 p.m., City & CBS T he cast of 2 Broke Girls is certainly no stranger to playing around with TV icons — after all, they've got one of Saturday Night Live's original Not Ready for Prime Time Players (Garrett Morris) as a regular — but this week's episode finds them bringing in one of the great TV comediennes of the '70s: Valerie Harper, otherwise known as the titular character in CBS's Rhoda. But before you get too excited, based on the promos, it seems like this will only be a one-off appearance, with Harper's character being described as "a successful photographer who has been keeping a secret." Given her recent health issues, the fact that Harper's guesting on the show at all is worthy of a standing ovation, but in an interview with People, Harper said of her renewed good health that she wakes up every morning grateful for another day.
